My Q4 Finish-A-Long List

Looking for the Q4 Finish-A-Long link up?  Click HERE to go to it.

I'm going to be honest, I'm struggling ya'll.  Struggling to fit in sewing/quilting time, struggling to take photos (my biggest problem) and struggling to blog.  Oh and social media, I'm virtually absent there.  I guess real life has just been ruling the day.  Nothing is really going on (other than 3 kids) but I'm finding it more and more difficult to get sewing time.  I'm making a Q4 list because I WANT TO WORK ON SOMETHING, but this year has been a total failure in terms of the Finish-A-Long for me.

Usually I make a "How I did in the last quarter?" post but this time it was pointless.  The third quarter only resulted in one finish (pajamas) that I have yet to take photos of.  I didn't touch anything else and truth be told I just finished those pajamas a week before the link-up began.  So there we have it.  Lame.

Moving forward, what should I do about my list this quarter?  Since I have been totally unmotivated to make any of the quilts that have been on the list ALL YEAR, I'm starting fresh with seasonal quilts that I really want to work on.  Here we go:
1.  Modern Maple - I intend for this to be a "fall" quilt and since the weather just turned "fall-ish" here it would be nice to work on it now.  I have 20+ blocks and I'm thinking of adding a few acorn blocks possibly.

2. La Petite Salon Quilt - Obviously it is a top, I have all the supplies for the backing.  I think this is a full sized quilt and would work great for my 6 year old's bed.  I'm thinking a wood grain pattern quilting would be fun, maybe throw in a few acorns in the quilting.  Apparently I'm thinking of acorns a lot....

3.  Christmas Spiderwebs - Christmas will be here before the blink of an eye!  This was a bee block from years ago.  I have 24+ of these made, just need to put them into a quilt top, lap sized I think.

4.  Lori Holt Christmas Quilt - I would really like to work on this one during the Christmas season. I have 4-5 blocks made.  It will be a fun wall hanging.

5.  Bee Sewcial Triangles - I can't have a list without this quilt top!  Ugh, I need to make the backing.

6.  Waterfall Raglan - This is actually a finished top that I finished earlier this year as part of the Finish-a-Long.  I'm really not in love with the fit, it's about 2 sizes too big.  So I think I'm going to take it apart, cut it a bit smaller and then sew it back together.

There we have it, six items.  Let's see if I can work on at least some of them this quarter.

You still have time to link up yourself, create a list and play along.  We love having you and encouraging you all to finish up those WIPS!  Oh and possibly win some prizes too!

Sorry you sewing mojo has been harder to express. Glad you got one thing done in Q3. Glad you rebaselined your project list for the seasonal change. Wishing you good sewing vibes in the cooler weather.

I’m in the same boat as you as far as Q3 finishes - during the Summer, sewing just doesn’t happen in this house and so far this Fall, work has taken up ALL my energy and time. Here’s to a little bit of sewing for Q4 - your list is a great list! Can’t wait to see your new re-sized top!

Eh, don't beat yourself up! Real life is always more important than social media, and most all of us completely get where you're coming from. Blog when you want to, and we'll enjoy the peeps we get. :) No guilt for non-regular posting. Also, no guilt for spans of time that quilting falls by the wayside. Many of us had that issue for Q3! You have some fantastic seasonal projects here. I'm super intrigued by the fabric in the maple leaves - that is so cool.

So sorry you don't get to sew as much as you like to! Great idea though to change your list around completely. I love the paint-by-numbers block, brilliant fussy cutting and great colours! And I always adore your beesewcial quilts!!
And don't worry if it doesn't happen as much as you feel it should, real life should be first always, and the children stay young for only such a short while.
