Baby Boy Quilt and Blanket

Fox Trails, Scale: The largest character in the main print is around 2" tall, and the argyle print diamonds are around 0.5".
I need HELP!  Do you see this lovely collection above?  It is Fox Trails (plus the solid green is a shot cotton gifted to me by Debbie, which matches perfectly, by the way.) I have every intention of turning this pile of fabrics into a quilt for our upcoming new baby boy, but I am struggling to choose a pattern.  I don't want to choose a pattern that has a lot of sashing or solid colors in between blocks.  Preferably, a pattern that can be just prints right up next to each other for the whole top!  Below I have four examples from Flickr of patterns I am considering, and of them all, I am leaning toward the "plus quilt" located in the lower left corner, I'm just not sold yet.  Do you know of a great pattern I could use, or have a great idea for these fabrics?  Please share, I'm stumped!

On a side unrelated note, I thought I would share some pictures of a crochet blanket that I made for our new little one.  I started this crochet blanket at least 2.5 years ago, reached about the mid-point of the project, and then set it aside.  I simply didn't want to work on it anymore.  Well....about a year ago, I pulled it out and finally finished it up, I just never posted pictures of it.  I wasn't pregnant at the time, and knew I was making it for a future baby, so it was packed away for a while.  I love the way it turned out, and it has these cute little "knobs" all over it, that give the blanket such a great texture.

There are two lessons I learned by making this blanket:
1.  I taught myself to crochet, so reading patterns is a real struggle for me.  I discovered that if you set aside a piece of work for more than a year, it is really difficult to pick it back up and remember how and what pattern you were even working on.
2.  Buy enough yarn to finish the project!  I didn't and was about 2/3 of the way done, and had to try and find a matching yarn since the one I originally bought was no longer available for purchase.  This was a MAJOR PAIN, and resulted in traveling to several stores, and then having to settle on something that was "close enough."

I am quite proud of this one, and it sure is snugly soft.  I just hope our new little one enjoys it too!

I do like the plus quilt. I have a Disappearing 9 Patch on my website-the Halloween one-that would also be nice for this. There are a lot of different layouts. I think Missouri Quilt Company may have a little tutorial for it too.

I love a nice plus quilt, but I felt like it was alot of work. Also love the cross & am considering that soon myself. But for this quilt, I really like the fairytale - has some big squares for those focus fabrics. http://www.flickr.com/photos/27780490@N05/sets/72157627664843042/ was also a fun, quick pattern to put together, just fyi. I know it has some sashing, but not alot. Good luck as you decide - very fun fabric! Oh, I think the DS9 is a great idea too!
And congrats on the crochet.

I love them all, but I'm going to vote for the last one because it seems like it would be a great choice for the graphic prints you chose..well, I guess 2 would be good too! Ah gah, I'm no help!

Of the four you have, I think that the fairytale and the crosses are my favourites. Here is another pretty simple but wonderful pattern idea for you: http://www.flickr.com/photos/redpepperquilts/5449206494/in/faves-55389776@N08/
Really any square in square idea can work nicely. I love the crochet blanket.

Your little one will love it and won't notice whether the colours match or not!

My favourite of the four quilts is the one in the top right because I am a novice quilter and it looks easier than the "plus" signs! LOL

I have always loved plus quilts, and I'd love to see these fabrics in a plus quilt!

I've always loved "Yellow Brick Road" by Atkinson Designs: http://www.flickr.com/photos/15807254@N08/2757333786/ It uses all fat quarters, and it's not immediately obvious how it was pieced together. I'm going to use this on my next baby quilt, I think. of the ones you've shown, I think the mini cross quilt is my favorite.

You could make a log cabin quilt and do somme fussy cutting with your prints for the centers of the log cabin. I don't know if it's clear...

Just like she did : http://www.flickr.com/photos/jenib/5381405557/in/set-72157626012298807

Fun fabrics! Unfortunately, my brain is running on empty at the moment, so ideas are scarce. (And you've probably already chosen a direction at this point anyway!) :)

I LOVE the crochet blanket. It is fabulous, and extra special because mama made it. :) Learning to crochet is definitely on my bucket list.

LOVE YOUR CROCHETED AFGHAN WITH THE SHELLS & BOBBLE STITCHES. DO YOU HAVE A WRITTEN COPY OF THE PATTERN?
