Did you miss me last week?  I missed you!  Last weeks post just didn't happen, rain and gloomy skies kept me from taking pictures, and honestly, who wants to see a post with no photos?  What did I accomplish in two weeks?  Not as much as I would have hoped.  I completed two blocks in my bottled rainbows quilt along, the first is in a previous post and the second is right here!  I am in love with them so far, and the process is so fun.

I signed up for another quilt along, Lily's Quilts quilt along, I came in a little late, but am currently caught up with the rest of the group, I used my Sherbet Pips bundle for this quilt.  You can see my progress below.  I am so excited to have the inner circles sewn in and finished.  It was way easier than I thought it would be!

I worked on my fabric stash (a little) more, and it is slowly coming around, maybe I will have that project finished by the end of the year!  I certainly hope sooner than that, but at the current rate, I'm not expecting much!

The last two photos are the two different colors of blooming iris in my yard currently.  The yellow is pretty and always photographs better, but I have to admit I love the purple ones the most!  I wish they bloomed year round.

Lily's Quilts Quilt-Along

I recently joined in another quilt-along!  Am I crazy?  Yes, a little.  I once again was doing some blog hopping and stumbled across this fabulous blog by the lovely Lynne.  She had created a beautiful mini-quilt using Sherbet Pips fabric, and it just so happened that she was doing a quilt-along of that very quilt block.  As soon as I saw it, I knew that it was what I wanted to do with my Sherbet Pips bundle, so I jumped aboard (a little behind, but not too much!)  I am making a four block quilt, and before you think this is going to be small, it isn't.  Each of those four blocks are 30" x 30", thus I am making a 60" x 60" lap quilt, and I probably will add a border also.  I hope to sew in the center circles in the next few days and then I will be caught up with the rest of the group!

Each block uses six prints from the Sherbet Pips line, plus the addition of a solid Kona Ash that I then hand embroidered a running stitch in matching colors (red, dark pink. light pink and blue.)  I love the handmade touch this added to each block.  Each block is completely unique because I used a different six prints in each one, for a total of 24 different Sherbet Pips prints!  So far I am really pleased with how they are turning out, and the piecing has been really enjoyable!  I'm off to cut out and sew in those circles!
Wish me luck!
