This bag comes a month late (or is it two months now?), but heck, late is always better than never, right?  At least that is what I have been telling myself a lot lately.  I felt like this bag was actually really easy to construct, and the hardest parts were turning the darn handle and sewing on those side "hips."  I have no idea as to how you would sew on those hips if you made the small bag, I made the medium one and that was tough enough.
Picture
Anyways, I don't really have any complaints about this bag, I think the instructions were very clear and straight forward, I didn't have any issues putting it together, and honestly it went together really quickly, which was also nice.  I did find the handle extremely difficult to turn, but I think that even though this was difficult, I think it was the best option in this circumstance, and honestly when is a long tube ever easy to turn?

If you have stuck with my rambling this far, time for the giveaway!  I have been extremely blessed lately and feel like spreading the love!  I will be giving away this bag to one lucky person!  You have two simple methods to enter to win, just be sure to leave a separate comment for each entry.

1.  I am looking for some good summer reading, and would love a book suggestion.  I just finished the "Girl with Dragon Tattoo" series, and I love a variety of subjects, but I LOVE time travel books, or a good love triangle.  So for your first chance to win, just suggest a good book for me to read!  Super simple!

2.  If you are a blog follower, leave a comment saying so, or if you become a new follower, just let me know!  Also super simple!

Easy peasy!  This giveaway will close on Wednesday, August 10, 2011 at midnight!  Looking forward to some great book suggestions!

I love Janet Evanovich!! She has a new one out but if you haven't tried her yet, start at the first one. They are easy to read and laugh out loud funny.

That bag is absolutely gorgeous!

Books.. one of my favourite series of books is the outlander books by Diana Gabaldon. First one is crossstitch (but I think in US its called Outlander)
And they have time travel in them, so if you've not read them I would recommend them! :)

Beautiful bag, I love the fabric you have used. One really good book I have read is The Forgotten Garden by Kate Morton. Mystery, family drama, love, it's got it all.

Ack, Marci! I love that bag! I have to agree that turning handles in bags is quite problematic. I've made ONE Amy Butler bag and wanted to shoot myself trying to turn the handle, and then attach it at the end. I'm impressed that you're sewing your way through the entire book, I'm not sure I could handle that many of her patterns. They're fairly straightforward but a lot of work! They do produce some gorgeous bags though.

Ok, book suggestion, somebody else already mentioned it but since you love time travel and love triangles then Outlander by Diana Gabaldon is the book for you. I've read through the entire series once and actually just picked book one back up a couple of nights ago and am starting over. GREAT read.

For time travel I really like Diana Gabaldon's books, they're hefty so they should keep you busy for a bit if you haven't read them yet.
Another series that I love is the By the Numbers series by Janet Evanovich (starts with One for the Money). They involve a love triangle, and are really funny!

I agree with Becky- I love me some Hunger Games! Your bag is very cute, I like the clocks. I also had some trouble with sewing the hips on just right, but yeah- no biggie. Btw- are you excited or not excited about August's bag? I'm going to do it, but man... I do not like fringe. Not sure what to do with it after I finish!

i must concur with the Diana Gabaldon vote- super set of stories starting with Cross stitch. This is perhaps my favourite genre (as well as historical fiction) so will be watching closely for my own winter reading list! Happy reading.

Well, if you have been living under a rock, you should read the Twilight series... makes you feel like a teenager again and if you haven't read the series, you will finally know what everyone is talking about.

Other than that, I read "The Help" just in time for the movie... I would go that route!

I haven't been reading much lately, so I'm glad you're prompting me ;) Looking at your banner always reminds me of my fave book "The Secret Life of Bees"! Ohh, it's so deliciously rich and inviting, I love the characters and I didn't want the book to end. I haven't even seen the movie yet. I really want to read "Hannah's Dream" by Diane Hammond!

Have you read The Time Traveler's Wife? I enjoyed the Dragon girl series, too. What about the Outlander series by Diane Gabaldon? I read it years ago, but am listening to it on my Ipod while sewing. For a love triangle, an old goodie is Rebecca by Daphne du Mauier. Happy Reading!

I'd suggest the Single Thread series, by Marie Bostwick. Loved reading her first three books. I'm now reading her last one, but am not enjoying it so much.
The book that touched me most of all books I have read is The Secret Life of Bees.
Good luck and hope you'll let us know which book you eventually started reading.
