I have been absent from my blog for a little while. I have been sick (it seems like forever) and I have been working on some projects for home! This little colorful quilt is going to be hanging on my son's wall soon. I had basted it together quite some time ago, but had to borrow the big hoop from my mom, so this project had been on the back burner. I started quilting it (with embroidery thread) yesterday, and am almost finished. You can see how I keep my lines straight, masking tape! I love this fabric and felt that it was just right for my growing toddler's room. This great fabric panel is from the fabric line Aldo to Zippy by Jenn Ski and I purchased it from Hawthorne Threads (I LOVE their website!) My husband said, "It looks great except for those huge wonky stitches." He was joking, he knew those stitches will get pulled out eventually. Ha Ha. So now you can see what I have been working on, and I will post more photos as soon as it is finished! What have you been working on?
I thought I would share some of the lovely photos of wisteria that my mom has growing at her home. The day I took these photos, I was wearing a very bright floral print top, and the bees kept swarming around me, and then I thought....duh....they think I'm a flower too! Hope all you Mother's out there had a wonderful Mother's Day!
Ever wonder "Who exactly is Marci...is she real?" Well here I am, in all my fuzzy photo glory! When I started this blog back in February, I went through a years worth of photos and couldn't find a single decent photo of myself (the 5 that existed were really bad,) so last night after our baths my husband snapped this photo of me, our little boy and his puppy (or as he pronounces it peepe!) That explains the lack of clothes (I do have on shorts,) bare faces (yep, no make-up) and scraggly hair. You know how it goes though, you get a good picture taken, and of course it turns out slightly blurry...oh well, you win some, you lose some! The picture below is our ole' bear showing off his brand new (overpriced) pajamas that feature our Alma Mater (The University of Louisiana, Ragin' Cajuns!) He sure does like them, and we thought he looked pretty spiffy also!
