Look at that grin...yum chocolate Easter bunny for breakfast, what could be better than that? He is still to young to understand Easter fully, but he sure did enjoy waking up to Easter baskets of candy and toys from the Easter bunny. We spent the day at my mom's house (the first time we have celebrated Easter at her house in 10 years,) had a simple cookout of hamburgers and hotdogs and then hunted eggs! Ole boy really enjoyed hunting the eggs once he realized they were full of candy (candy that was rapidly melting in the sun!) He did have a hard time understanding the concept of putting the eggs in the basket, he just wanted to carry all of his found treasures by hand. After a day of candy and egg hunting, he slept peacefully all the way home. We had a beautiful Easter and I hope that you and your family also had a wonderful day!

I thought I would share some of ole' boys dyeing Easter eggs moments. He really got into it this year, to bad Mama gave him washable crayons and the cold eggs were sweating, so the crayon just ran off! He truly loved "throwing" the eggs into the cups of dye, and just had to taste the "juice," but didn't like the vinegar water dye mixture! He also loved running around in his dress (Dad's old T-shirt tied in the back) and no shoes! Little boy loving some spoons in a row! I think playing with the spoons was more fun than dyeing the eggs. So sweet my teeth hurt!
Well, here we are on the last meat-less Friday, and folks, I have saved the best for last! This first time I ever ate or even heard of this meal was from my mother-in-law, and the name does nothing for it...why this dish is named this is beyond me, because there is no barbecue in it at all, but boy is it good! This is a meal we eat maybe once a year, first because it isn't exactly cheap to make and second because it is so rich, but it is super easy and I haven't met anyone yet who doesn't like this meal! So, if you can get your hands on some fresh shrimp, give this recipe a try! French Bread is a must with this recipe, it is great for dipping in the remaining spicy butter sauce.
Marci's Barbecue Shrimp Serves 4 Ingredients: 1/4 Cup Olive Oil 1 Small Bell Pepper, Finely Chopped 1 Small Onion, Finely Chopped 2 Cloves of Garlic, Minced 2 Pounds Large Fresh Shrimp, Rinsed (The Whole Thing in the Shell) 2 Sticks of Butter 4 Tablespoons Mrs. Dash Original 1 Tablespoon Black Pepper 2 Bay Leaves 2 Tablespoons Worcestershire Sauce A Few Dashes of Your Favorite Hot Sauce 1 Lemon 1 Loaf of French Bread In a saucepan heat Olive Oil over medium heat, add Bell Pepper, Onion and Garlic, cook until vegetables are soft. Preheat oven to 350 degrees. In a large casserole dish (oven safe) add Olive Oil and cooked Vegetables, and all of the remaining ingredients, except the Lemon and French Bread. Place uncovered in the oven for 10 minutes, remove and stir well, butter should be melted. Repeat this two more times, for a total cooking time of 30 minutes. The shrimp should be pink and completely opaque. Remove Bay Leaves, and squirt the juice from the Lemon over the Shrimp right before you serve. Serve in bowls with French Bread on the side. Enjoy and Happy Easter! These guys are the absolute cutest, aren't they? These two little friends will be Easter gifts to my two nieces...I sure hope they like them, I think they are the best and oh so cute and easy. Want to whip them up for an Easter gift, it really is only a one hour project, and uses just scraps of fabric, thread and fiberfill. I stumbled across this tutorial on My Little Mochi's website and thought the bunnies were too cute to pass up. The tutorial is titled "Chibi Kitty and Rabbit" (link below) check it out...too cute! I changed one thing from the original tutorial, on the bottom of the bunnies, I folded in the bottom corners and stitched them down to give the bottom a more rounded effect instead of pointy corners. The funny part is, that if I had made one of these for my son, he would have cared less, but because they aren't for him, he has been desperate to get his hands on them! Go figure!
